Population growth of urban
areas in Turkey. More than two
of every three Turks lives in a
city. Anatolians have been living
in cities for ten thousand years
so this is hardly surprising.
There are two hazards of
urbanization: it is very difficult
to economically scale up
infrastructure at the rate of
population growth AND for
earthquakes and tsunamis cities
become target-rich
environments.
