In the classical Queen's Gambit Declined
(1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6) Black often struggles to
develop his white-squared Bishop.  We were
unable to locate an Estonian Opening or an
Estonian Gambit. However, the illustrious
Estonian Grandmaster Paul Keres (1916-1975)
analyzed the Baltic Opening from the position
shown here. Some have remarked that Black's
choice shows an order of social importance:
first the common people (Pawns), then
religion (Bishop) and only later military
(Knight) and royalty (King and Queen). We
presume Rooks are infrastructure.
