Sudbury is an actual confirmed
impact crater - it is currently 62
km by 30 km by 15 km deep. It
is calculated to have been 250
kilometers in diameter
originally making it the second
largest on Planet Earth. It is also
among the oldest - 1.85 billion
years old. The Sudbury Impact
has very rich farming land, and
is a major source for nickel,
copper, palladium and gold.
Ejecta have been found as far
away as Minnesota (800 km).
